Bollard

to keep building save from any car attack .....
bollard is a short vertical post. Originally it meant a post used on a ship or a quay, principally for mooring. The word now also describes a variety of structures to control or direct road traffic, such as posts arranged in a line to obstruct the passage of motor vehicles. The American Heritage Dictionary describes this use of bollard as "chiefly British", although the term has crept into the jargon of some American universities where dense traffic necessitates the use of bollards for access control. In the lighting industry, the term is used to describe short, post-like light fixtures.

Interlock Paving

Design .....
Traditional Block paving is sized 200 x 100mm and is available in 60 & 80mm thicknesses for commercial application and 50mm thick for domestic situations.
Blocks are laid onto a compacted sand bed which has been screed to the required levels.
After laying the block paving to the desired pattern the perimeter blocks are cut to the edge using a guillotine paving cutter. Finally the blocks are covered in kiln dried jointing sand before compaction with a plate vibrator and a final sweep to fill the joints with sand.
There are many other sizes of blocks now on the market, often referred to as sett paving but typically the thickness remains at 50,60 or 80mm. All blocks are available in a variety of surface finishes and colors.

And most paving problems issued in manhole areas and any different connection with other materials, as mentioned in picture below for ma hole and it's steel cover connection with interlock.

PERMEABLE BLOCK PAVING
Much like traditional block & sett paving in appearance the installation method is different. Permeable paving is laid on a bed of fine angular stones onto a sub-base formed with fines stones. Surface water permeates through the paving into the sub-base before either eventually filtrating into the ground, watercourse, water harvesting tank or main drains. Interlock Paving have been laying these products since they came onto the market and are an approved installer of Hanson Formpave's permeable paving, the company that founded the system in the UK.

CURBSTONE

For paving or car stopper, Typically made from pre cast concrete although sometimes natural stone or granite.
Kerbs are used to restrain the edges of block or slab paving.
Usually laid on a concrete bed and available in numerous sizes, colours and finishes to suit the application.

Inspection Car pit

how to get better access to your cars nether regions .....

Where’s the best place for a pit?

Ideally the pit steps should be facing your workbench or where you store your tools. You should be able to access the steps with the car fully in the garage. Circumstances differ, of course. The pit in the pictures is fitted in a double length garage and is positioned the opposite way round to suit the needs of the owner.

and for more information find the following PDF file, which is funny and his publisher start with a picture which I don't like it, but he is trying to explain why the car pit is very important and maybe not possible to have your car repaired without it, have fun and nice information....

Cat Ladder: The Functional and Aesthetic Addition to Architecture

Cat Ladder

Why they call it like this .....
Because you will use it exactly like how the cat use it...... check this video below

It's a ladder used for working on a sloping roof, with a hook at one end and pads to spread the load.
Cat ladders are delightful contraptions that usually affix the the outside of a house or apartment building, providing a cat with easy access to the outdoors from a home that’s several stories up.
This interesting cat ladder is built with small ledges enabling the cat to go from one to the other, but the tabby prefers to scamper straight up the middle, climbing the ladder. This well-trained cat comes when he’s call and climbs the ladder on command.

Why they call it Cat Ladder check video below.....

The cat ladder, also known as a cat stair or catwalk, is a type of ladder designed to provide cats with a safe and easy way to climb up and down from high places. While the ladder was initially designed for cats, it has since been adapted for human use, particularly in urban areas where space is limited and access to roofs and balconies is essential.

The concept of the cat ladder originated in Europe in the early 20th century. At the time, many European cities had a large population of stray cats, and people began to realize the importance of providing them with access to high places, such as rooftops and balconies. As a result, many buildings began to incorporate cat ladders into their designs, providing the cats with a safe and easy way to climb up and down.

Over time, the cat ladder has become more than just a functional addition to buildings. It has also become an important aesthetic feature in architecture, adding an interesting and unique element to the design of buildings. Many architects have embraced the use of cat ladders, incorporating them into their designs to create a more visually appealing and functional space.

One of the most significant benefits of the cat ladder is its ability to add value to the architecture of a building. With the increasing demand for green space and the need for more sustainable design, cat ladders have become an important element in creating a more eco-friendly building. By providing cats with access to green spaces and rooftops, buildings can help to reduce the carbon footprint of cities, while also providing a unique and attractive feature.

So, why are they called cat ladders? The name is derived from the original purpose of the ladder, which was to provide cats with a safe and easy way to climb up and down. While the ladder is now used for human access as well, the name has stuck, and the term "cat ladder" is still commonly used to describe this type of ladder.

There are several different types of cat ladders, each with its own unique design and features. The most common type is the straight ladder, which is typically made of metal or wood and is attached to the side of a building. Other types include spiral ladders, modular ladders, and even catwalks that span across multiple buildings.

In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards incorporating cat ladders into urban architecture. In 2018, the German design firm Studio Precht created a stunning cat ladder design that wrapped around the exterior of a building, providing cats with access to a rooftop garden. The design received widespread attention and praise, demonstrating the growing importance of cat ladders in architecture.

The cat ladder has come a long way since its early origins in Europe. While it was originally designed for cats, it has since become an important element in architecture, adding both functional and aesthetic value to buildings. With the growing trend towards eco-friendly and sustainable design, cat ladders will continue to play an important role in shaping the future of urban architecture.

Fuel Dispenser

Design .....
here is some information from Wikipedia .....
A modern fuel dispenser is logically divided into two main parts — an electronic "head" containing an embedded computer to control the action of the pump, drive the pump's displays, and communicate to an indoor sales system; and secondly, the mechanical section which in a ‘self contained’ unit has an electric motor, pumping unit, meters, pulsers and valves to physically pump and control the fuel flow.
In some cases the actual pump may be sealed and immersed inside the fuel tanks on a site, in which case it is known as a submersible pump. In general submersible solutions in Europe are installed in hotter countries, where suction pumps may have problems overcoming cavitation with warm fuels or when the distance from tank to pump is longer than a suction pump can manage.
In modern pumps, the major variations are in the number of hoses or grades they can dispense, the physical shape, and the addition of extra devices such as pay at the pump devices and attendant "tag" readers.

-->
Flow rate is typically 40+ liters per minute and is higher for high-speed pumps serving trucks and other large vehicles. In the USA flow rate is limited to 10 gallons per minute (37.8 liters per minute) except "Any dispensing pump that is dedicated exclusively to heavy-duty vehicles, boats, or airplanes is exempt from this requirement.

Historically, fuel dispensers had a very wide range of designs to solve the mechanical problems of mechanical pumping, reliable measurement, safety, and aesthetics. This has led to some popularity in collecting antique dispensers, especially in the USA.
